The St. Lucia Certified Sick Leave Rule was updated as follows:
- An employee can only receive full pay eight (8) weeks after a previously certified sick leave period started.
- The employer is no longer required to pay the employee for leave periods exceeding three (3) months.

- For the 1st Sick Leave Request of six (6) days:
- First three (3) days at Full Pay: 3*8=24
- Second three (3) days at a Factor of 0.35: 2*8=16 (one day falls on a Sunday only 2 days are paid)
- For the 2nd Sick Leave Request of three (3) days:
- Three (3) days at a Factor of 0.35: 3*8=24
- Total Hours at a Factor of 0.35 for this cycle equals 40.
