How do I create my organisation structure?

Each organisation may have a unique structure/hierarchy, and in HRplus, this structure/hierarchy starts with defining the user-defined Levels (company, organization, division, section etc.) that form the base or foundation.  There are four (4) default levels:  Company, Division, Department, Section, which may be edited, if desired.  Defining the levels in the organization’s hierarchy is the first step in building the organization’s structure.

At least three (3) levels must be set up for POWERpay

Step 1 - Set up Levels

Personnel>>Setup>>Organisation>>Structure>>Organisation Levels

Account Segment Order - this determines the order to start (or continue) the accounting segments being captured at the entity levels.  A maximum of nine (9) segments each comprising 1 to 3 characters per segment can be used  The system will generate the account codes e.g. 100-400-300 - the 1 represents the entity ‘Division’ (Branch Office 1), 4 represents the entity ‘Section’ (Finance) and 3 represents the entity ‘Department’ (Payables).

Step 2 - Set up Entities

Personnel>>Setup>>Organisation>>Structure>>Organisation Entities

Setting up entities - the names of the companies, divisions, departments, sections etc. -  within each level in the organization is the second step in building the organization’s structure.  Again, you can have an unlimited number of entities in any one level.

Personnel>>Setup>>Organisation>>Structure>>Valid Organisation Hierarchies

An example is shown below.  You can only set up two (2) levels at a time.

Rank - Company

Primary Entity - <name of company>

Secondary Rank - Division

Secondary Entity - <name of division>
