Statutory Rule Exceptions

In some countries, the law prescribes that certain earnings, allowances or other income are exempt from being included as part of the figure of total earnings that is used to calculate the tax due. E.g. In Anguilla, the law states that service Charge, sick leave pay and maternity pay are not to be included in the remuneration on which the Interim Stabilization Levy (tax) is calculated on.

In HRPlus, the earnings, allowances or other income codes which are an exception to the relevant statutory rule, are setup in this table.

Create new Statutory Exception

Enter Exception Rule Details

Region: Select the Region. The list of countries will be filtered based on the region selected.

Country: Select the country in which the exception rule is to be applied.

Statutory Rule Code: Once the country is selected, if there are any statutory rules to which an exception can be applied, then this will be available for selection. Select the statutory rule exception prior to linking the exempted payroll codes.

Payroll Type: Select whether the payroll code type to be exempted is either a timesheets/earnings, allowances, other income or deduction.

Payroll Code and Description: Select the Payroll code which is an exception to the statutory rule calculation.

Save the record and repeat to setup additional exempted payroll codes.
