POWERpay Payroll - Cycle Pay Register Details

A radio button, Calculate Weeks Employed, was added to the print criteria.  This enables the system to use either of the following options, when calculating the Weeks Employed.  If the user checks:

  • Yes: the value in the Date Started field (Personnel>>Employees>>Employees HR View>>Identity and Hire Data>>[Date Started]) is used.
  • No: the value in the Weeks Employed field (POWERpay>>Employees>>Current Payroll Data>>Pay Profile>>Pay Parameters>>[Weeks Employed]) is used.

Personnel>>Employees>>Employees HR View>>Identity and Hire Data>>[Date Started]:

The calculation is as follows:

  1. Get the number of days:  Date Started to current.
  2. Divide by 7 to get the number of weeks.
  3. If there are 5 or more days remaining, add an extra week (7 days).

Example:

The employee’s Date Started is 10/02/2019 (dd/mm/yyyy) as shown in the screenshot below.  The report to be generated is Cycle 12 of a Monthly payroll.  To determine the number of weeks employed, the following calculation is used:

  • Number of Days:  10/02/2019 to 31/12/2019 = 326 days.
  • Number of Weeks:  326 days/7 = 46.57 weeks.
  • Number of days remaining:  326 mod 7 = 4 days.  Since 4 is less than 5, no additional weeks are added  the  total number of weeks employed is therefore 46.
