How do I update an employee's Personal Allowance (Trinidad and Tobago)?

Updated on

Enter a cycle change  P...PAY PROFILE…PA...PERSONAL ALLOWANCE

The Personal Allowance amount granted to an individual is determined by the Law of the Land and may change each year.

When a new employee is hired or employees are uploaded onto HRplus, the Personal Allowance must be entered as a cycle change for all required persons, ideally in the first cycle in which they are being paid.

However, if the Personal Allowance  is entered in a subsequent cycle the payroll will still recover the correct calculation of the tax.

The cycle change  P...PAY PROFILE…PA...PERSONAL ALLOWANCE can be used for any country.

The Use Tax Allowance Breakdown (Maintenance>>Statutory Deductions>>Use Tax Allowance Breakdown) feature is specific to Trinidad and Tobago and is used to show a breakdown of an employee's allowable deductions and facilitates easy recalculations of the total allowable deductions (e.g. National Insurance, Annuities, Tertiary Education Expenses and Personal Allowance).
