How do I set the Weight for each Appraisal Type?

Appraisal Type Weight

The Appraisal Type Weight represents the Proportional Weight that indicates the importance of each appraisal type (Goals, Competencies, Primary Responsibilities) to the Company.

During the employee appraisal process, the employee's performance is assessed against each criteria used which can include Goals, Competency and Primary Responsibilities based on predetermined criteria. The appraiser evaluates the employee's proficiency and achievement levels in relation to the assigned goals, competencies and tasks and the employee achieves a total score against each criteria. The Total Score/Total Rating for each competency is then multiplied by its assigned proportional weight to get the Adjusted Scores. The Total of all Adjusted Scores then gives the employee a Final Total Score and an Overall Rating for their Appraisal.

Weighting goals, competencies and job tasks/primary responsibilities can enhance the fairness and accuracy of employee appraisals by providing a more comprehensive assessment that considers the diverse aspects of an employee's job responsibilities. It enables organizations to focus on the areas that truly matter and make informed decisions regarding performance feedback, development opportunities, promotions, and rewards.
