An employee's tax is calculated incorrectly. What could be the cause?

Updated on

It may be that the employee is new on the payroll and his/her Brought Forward Totals (tax paid, taxable earnings, national insurance, pension) may need to be entered via  Cycle Changes.

Brought Forward Totals are not reflected in  Year-to-Date totals as they are  amounts that are paid by the employee's previous employers.

Brought Forward Totals are entered via Cycle Changes (BFT, BFE, BF Deductions), for new employees, in the employee's first payroll cycle.  They are used by the payroll to accurately calculate an employee's tax.
