FAQ for Azure Server move

HRplus Software had been approached by Microsoft to become a Microsoft Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Partner. Since then, we have been working with Microsoft on a number of initiatives, including the release of HRplus for Microsoft Azure! 

Microsoft Azure is designed to serve businesses from over the internet and has quickly become the industry standard in cloud computing. Fortune 500 companies like Walmart, HP and FedEx all use this platform for their cloud and hybrid solutions. 

HRplus Software has joined this elite club and, over the past few months, we have been preparing our HRplus product range for Microsoft Azure. 

We are pleased to report that this is now complete!

1. What is the Azure Server?

 Azure is a high performing, secure, consistent hybrid cloud system offered and managed by Microsoft 

2. Why must we move to the Azure Server

   HRplus’ migration to Azure, allows the application to adopt new technologies, which will help improve the applications performance, security, and availability.

3. How is this Azure Server beneficial to our company?

  • The Azure Server comes with the Microsoft brand, reputation, high standards and innovation
  • It offers greater and more robust security
  •  It is easier and quicker to resolve software issues or ‘bugs’ that may crop up, as it allows HRplus to effortlessly build and deploy to all clients
  • All-Inclusive One Shop, where all related products, services and third-party applications, that are needed for integration are readily available in one platform
  • It can support all ranges of customer base; be it low, mid, or high
  • Increased performance of the application

4. When must this move be completed?

We are planning to complete the move by the end of June 2022. To meet this goal we require the collaboration of all our clients in order to facilitate a smooth transition to Azure. 

5. How many hours of downtime will this process cost my company?

Our Help Desk team will inform you of the downtime that is applicable to your site as clients are in different releases of the application

6. Will this move incur any additional costs to our company?

No. HRplus will cover all the relevant costs to facilitate the process.

7. What changes does the application entail with this move?

  • There are new features and improvements to various modules such as:
  • There are changes to some reports and additional statutory reports for varying islands
  • Workflow entries
  • Contract types can be added to employees’ profile
  • Reporting Relationship Import
  • Leave letter templates
  • YTD Pay Register
  • Severance Pay TD4 for 2020/2021
  • Change in appearance of icons
  • You may consult the release notes 2022.02.04 for further information on all improvements and changes.

8. Do we require to undergo training again for the new changes?

There is no need to undergo new training for the improvements with this upgrade and move to the new server, as the https://learn.hrplus.net site has the various how to articles and release notes to guide on the various changes/improvements. However, if you see the need to have a refresher in Training of any of the modules your company utilizes, you can reach out to us accordingly.

9. What will happen if I choose to opt out of the move to the Azure server?

Unfortunately, if you chose not to migrate to Azure, HRplus will no longer be able to fully support all your needs, as any errors, bugs or improvements made will be completed on the Azure server.
