Cost Centre Structure

The Cost Centre Structure screen allows you to flag which segments of the full account code (defined in GL Account  Structure) make up the Cost Centre code. It is important to note that this is exclusive: you will NOT be able to enter  segments in the Cycle Changes that have NOT been flagged as part of the Cost Centre code.

How does it work?

  • In our example above, suppose that an employee may work in different companies as well as departments. Then segments 2 (Company) and 4 (Department) are the segments that we would like to change at the point of data entry. See How to Set Up the GL Structure.
  • We then define the cost centre as being made up of these two segments. To do this, follow the steps below:
    1. Enter 2 in the Cost Centre Segment No field. This is the second segment of the cost centre.
    2. Select 4 Department from the drop-down list of GL Segment No. This will allow the second segment of the Cost Centre code to be segment 5 of the full GL account code.
    3. Enter the user-defined Cost Centre Segment Delimiter. This delimiter will separate this segment from the next. You may leave this field blank

Enter Cost Centre Structure

Company: Select your company.
